About Me

I am able to support clients in Canada and provide support via Zoom to UK residents and people who seek support globally.

Formerly I have held roles as a lead Counsellor for Oxleas Kent cluster of Prisons and as a Project Manager for a charity called: Together for Mental Wellbeing, supporting the National Probation Service in London with the Forensic Mental Health Practitioner team.

In September 2015 I began working as a visiting lecturer at University of Greenwich on the MSc Therapeutic Counselling course. In September 2016 I delivered lectures at University of East London with Forensic Psychology students.

Working with students has been a rewarding experience: their reflective enquiry reminds me of the process I undertook between 2008 – 2012 to become a counsellor. I have found that the process of learning is fortunately ongoing.

Attending Greenwich University for the MSc in Therapeutic counselling was an eye opening experience. I began my training believing that I was a person-centred counsellor. By the end of the 3 year course I was resolute in recognising that there is need to make use of psychodynamic approaches. As a result I see myself as an integrative practitioner.

Appointments are arranged on a weekly basis. We will review the work regularly (approximately every 6 weeks). The aim is to reflect on how counselling work is being experienced and what changes are occurring for you.

I have provided a highly evaluated counselling service in a range of settings including a doctors surgery, a number of prisons and in schools. I regularly attend professional development to ensure I continue to develop myself and my practice.

To relax I enjoy playing chess, listening to good Jazz a varied selection of podcasts and baking artisan breads.

I am passionate about the work I am involved with and look forward to lightbulb moments. This is when a clear impression is made with a person or group I am working with. A new idea - sparked.
